Wouldn't rate him as much as I do some of the others in Black Hippy, Ab-Soul is miles better then him imo but his style is more the sound I like listening to. His flow in this is nuts!

Ab-Soul tho...

I like how he reinvented himself from his collabo with The Game to what he is doing now.

I also like that he is able to bring some traditional hip hop style into a more modern sound.

Yeah Ab Soul is good like the second track there and all the references to antiquity.

Current mood:
I tend to prefer Schoolboy and Ab Soul as well but they're all pretty fucking class in fairness.

Good Kid, m.A.A.d City leaked. After first listen I'd say it's album of the year.

Think that's even better than a lot of the nineties West Coast stuff.

Really diggin the new album, as usual there's some gammy moments in there but he mostly smashes it throughout.

Current mood:
That skit at the end of the first track is wrecking my head.... once you have heard it once that's enough, it drags on a bit.

I downloaded this the night it leaked, threw it on the ipod and jumped into bed... was sickened to find that it was Skyzoo's new album but with the tags change to Kendrick's track list....

But then I heard this, and was happy about it... Freeway kills it!!

Yeah skitz are just silly something that should be left in the 90's

Show just announced for Vicar Street January 14th. Tickets on sale next Thursday 30 notes will sell out fairly fast I'd say. Ya bish.

I still haven't listened to the album more than half way through been on my mp3 player for two weeks. There's something about skits do my head in. I was never able to listen to DangerDoom for that reason either. The gammy moments and my shocking attention span mean I inevitably say fuck dot and listen to Freddie Gibbs instead.

You could use iTunes and edit the starting and ending times on Dangerdoom... then you could listen without the skits Wink

Skits do get a bit annoying after a few listens of the album but they do fit it nicley, It is a "short movie" after all. Kinda reminds me of A Prince Among Thieves in that sense. Without the skits tracks like Backseat Freestyle would sound out of place. I'd imagine it won't be long before someone puts a version of the album online without the skits.

Lost me when I misread that as reminds me of "Prince of Thieves" the Robin Hood movie..

Nah I think Swimming Pools is probably track of the year. Finna give this a proper go one of these days I was just a bit busy recently and there was such a glut of good tapes out I got distracted.

I have already tired of him after the latest video with that comedian lad.

So, what does everyone think about his verse on that new Big Sean track? Is it the best rap verse in recent memory as everyone is saying? I preferred Jay Electronicas verse tbh, that was Jay going easy as well, I'm sure if he heard Kendricks part before he put his down it would have been a different story.

Shite! I didnt even think it was that good never mind best ever. I may be missing something though?

Thought this was funny

Current mood:
I got bored of this subject after the 1st day cos I have too many rap friends on Facebook and every second post was about it. Decent verse but nothing spectacular. There are plenty of current day rappers I rate a fair bit higher.
