post up some secret shit or not so secret that others should try.

tip 1:

pretty common most people prob done it,

get ur sample or sound, works well on vocals, solo instruments and drums.

reverse it

slap on tons of reverb

record the reserved sound with the reverb

then get ur sound, reverse it, therefore returning it to og state

now u will get a cool eerie build up to ur sound try it out, post any good results.

add a tip.

no one?

this one i have already chated with BT about but some people might have missed.
tip 2

when u have tracked ur beat into ur sequencer (logic, cubase, what ever u use)

group all the tracks expect the kick

then duplicate your kick and put that track into a group with the orignal kick track,

on ur second kick track, eq all the mids and hi;s out and boost all the lows (in around 20k)

then set an overall compressor on the first group of tracks, and have it sidechained by the second group

dont set the thershold hold too high or else when the kick plays everything else dies.

it should give u a nice bouncey airy sound to the track.

sometimes i add a low bassy long ass 808 kick to control (sidechain) the compressor and then mute the 808 in the mix so u dont hear it but u hear its effect.

tip 3

turn off quantize when recording hi hats, crashes, rides, basically nething drums that arenet the kick and snare. if done right gives u a nice swing, if done wrong just sounds sloppy so practice.

Current mood:
im shit at this as far as explaining goes but

first off imo try those things above and second

if you put piles of shit in the bass frequency and piles of shit in the really high pictch frequency but almost unnoticeable, you get a dre type bass sound

if you hide a melody or sample of an instrument that is playing a tune in amongst teh songs melddies low so you can barely hear it, it gives amazingly large complexity to the beat if done right
