3rd Eye Surfers
Filthy Folklore lp

Black Sheep record
Release Date 9.4.2001

With the release of the Filthy Folklore Lp, 3rd Eye Surfers and Black Sheep records drop a verbal bomb on Irish music.

The first Irish hip-hop album ever to be released combines futuristic hip-hop production with Ireland's history of spoken word and stream of conciousness writing techniques. Filthy Folklore takes its cue from the tru-school: Original rhymes over original beats and breaks, the Surfers emphasise the originality of the Irish twang so be ready for some gritty rhymes and some dark himour.

The 4 main rappers in the band are Lisa Dee, Poetic, Big Al and Richie Critical. Production duties are taken care of by Dj Wool, a seasoned verteran of Irish hip-hop he's had releases on Influx, Ultimate Dilemma, Peak and Plant Records as well as remixed for Howie B, Bass Odyssey, Paddy Casey, The Walls and more... He was also the 1998 Irish DMC mixing champion.

Featured on the Lp are remixes from British hip-hop producer Deckwrecka of Ronin records and ex Scary Eire member Dj Mek. There is also a guest vocal appearance from MC Strict who is the frontman for Cork City band Bass Odyssey. As well as straight up rap tunes Dj Wool has put together a couple of instrumental surprises which add to the diversity of the album.

Filithy Folklore contains 10 tracks as well as links and shout outs from the likes of Chuck D (Public Enemy) and seminal New York Graffiti Artist Phase 2.

The album will be available on CD and as 12"vinyl with instrumentals, acapellas and remixes.

Filthy Folklore will be available in all good record stores from 9.4.2001!!!
